…what do you mean it’s already March? Where…where did January and February go?!
You know what, nevermind. We’re here now and this is where we will begin.
So, what have I been up to since our last post in… *checks notes*…JULY?! My gods, we have really dropped the ball here, haven’t we?
In all honesty, I have been scrambling to get my life in order. Things have been tough since being thrown out of my home in September 2021. Work has been scarce, money has been tight, and depression has been a constant companion. Between my personal issues and the world at large being on a fast track to a fiery grave, it’s been difficult to get content out. Even streaming has been difficult despite the amazing support from my community. I have been mostly on hiatus for the past few months while my partner visited me, but I am now attempting to get back on the proverbial horse.
So, what does that entail?
Glad you asked, hypothetical audience member.
At the moment, my out of the house work is rare, which leaves me quite a lot of time on my hands. This is not good for my mental health as it leaves me directionless. So, until I do have a more solid schedule, I’m going to be focusing on my content. This means trying to keep an actual schedule instead of pantsing my way through the process. This will be quite a task as I have no one but myself to keep me on track. In the past, this has been quite the task for me and I imagine this time will be no different. As I work out the kinks in the process, I ask for your patience.
So, let’s go over the plan together.
Moderation Monday
Moderation Monday is my day to do administrative work for my projects. This will involve a blog post that will go over the weekly and/or monthly agenda. This post will go up here on the blog, Patreon, and Ko-fi on the same day for ease of access. All preplanned content for the week will also go up on Patreon and Ko-fi to reward them for their ability to contribute financially. This will also be the day that I do any video editing that I need to get done. In addition, a poll in my Discord server will conclude every week to determine what content will go live on Wildcard Wednesday.
Twitch Tuesday
Twitch Tuesday is a guaranteed streaming day on Twitch. What I stream will likely differ from week to week depending on which game I can focus on at any given time. These streams will be anywhere from 4-8 hours long which will all come down to my energy levels for that day. I am going to try to not stream longer than 8 hours at any given time so that I can actually work on making highlights and such.
Wildcard Wednesday
Every Monday, a poll will go live on my Discord server which will determine the content posted the following Wednesday. Server members will have 3-5 content options to vote on every week. This content can be anything I deem worthy to be on the list such as special streams, videos, blog posts, and the like. If this isn’t live content, it will be posted on Patreon and Ko-fi on Monday.
Thorough Thursday
This year I am participating in a game on Backlog Buster Golf with friends! What does this entail? Well, essentially, we’re all trying to play all those games we’ve accumulated over the years but have never finished. The rules are pretty simple. The goal is to finish games/achievements for games. If a player buys a new game or get games through subscriptions, they get a point. If they complete at least 50% of the achievements, 100% of the achievements, or complete the game/a challenge for the game, you lose a point. You want to end with the least amount of points by the end of the year. If you’d like to check out the challenge website set up by my amazing moderator TheDemonGyro, you can find it here.
So, what does this have to do with Thorough Thursdays? Every Thursday, I will be playing a game with achievements which we will be trying to accomplish during a Twitch stream. This stream will again be between 4-8 hours as I take a swing at my backlog.
Fiction Friday
Fridays are for writing! I will be taking the day to work on my various writing projects. If any of it is ready for general consumption, I will post it on this day, but it is mainly going to be the day that I set aside to actually write.
Settle Down Saturday
Saturdays will be my rest day. I have nothing planned for this day. I might hang out with people. I might sleep all day. It really depends on how I feel that day. I’ll still be active in Discord, but anything that doesn’t need my immediate attention will be put off until Moderation Monday.
Sunday Funday
Sundays will be community-based days! I’ll be spending as much time as I can with the community which could involve games, movies, or any other group activities. If we are playing a movie, I will try to play it at a time when most people can be there, but differing time zones can make this difficult. My hope is that holding this on a weekend day will give the most people access to these activities.
And there you have it! Now, keep in mind, if I do have out of the house work on any given day, that day’s activities are potentially forfeited. I will know in advance if I have work in most cases, so this will be covered in the Moderation Monday blog post. If I am called in by emergency, I’ll let y’all know ASAP.
